One way is to take pre dental programs.  Many universities offer pre dental programs for people who are thinking about a dental career.  Dentists often visit these classes so that you can ask questions.

If your college doesn’t offer pre dental classes, call some local dentists and shadow them.  Volunteer to help out so you can get an idea of what goes on at a dental office.

You may be eligible for early acceptance.  Some dental schools offer early acceptance programs with local universities.

Lastly, try your hardest to get good grades while in college.  Especially in your science classes like biology, chemistry, physics, math and statistics. This will help you in your dental school acceptance.

You Can Prepare For Dental School While Still In High School

It’s never too soon to start preparing for a dental career. There are many ways you can prepare for dental school while your still in high school.

prepare for dental schoolYou can shadow a dentist – This is when you go in and watch a dentist as they work.  Most dentists will allow this and it is a great opportunity for you to learn about the environment and if it might be the career for you. It’s a good idea to keep track of the hours that you spend shadowing because it will look good on your dental application.

Another thing you can do is attend a health high school. They offer classes like medical technology, diagnostic services, patient care, medical administration, clinical rotation, dental sciences and more.

Take science and math classes in high school.  If you can take AP classes and concentrate on your grades.
